GraceLife Blog 67-God’s World

God’s world is a literal world in which he operates.  Receiving a blessing from God’s world is like receiving a gift from this world.  We can take it out, play with it and then put it away.  It is ours; it is our gift from God.  But it’s invisible.  It’s not a car.  It’s from the Kingdom of Heaven–God’s World.  And unless we stay close to the Lord and have faith, we will have no idea that the good things happening in our lives is because the Lord has literally given us a blessing from heaven.

On the flip side of the coin, the Lord can give us something that isn’t a blessing at all.  In other words, we reap what we sow, and the Lord will, eventually, grow tired and give us what we choose.  And it will be a literal, ugly, invisible object that he places in our lives.  And unless we stay close to the Lord and have faith, we, as well, will have no idea that it’s there, rotting everything to trash.  Here’s an example of that:

Then the angel who was speaking to me came forward and said to me, “Look up and see what this is that is appearing.”

I asked, “What is it?”

He replied, “It is a measuring basket.”  And he added, “This is the iniquity of the people throughout the land.”

Then the cover of lead was raised, and there in the basket sat a woman!  He said, “This is wickedness,” and he pushed her back into the basket and pushed the lead cover down over its mouth.

Then I looked up–and there before me were two women, with the wind in their wings!  They had wings like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.

“Where are they taking the basket?”  I asked the angel who was speaking to me.

He replied, “To the country of Babylonia to build a house for it.  When it is ready, the basket will be set there in its place.” (Zechariah 5:5-11)

The people of Babylonia were an evil group.  They chose evil, time and time again, so the Lord gave them a whole basket of wickedness–conjured from all the people of the land– and put it right in the heart of their city.  And then they built a temple for it so they could worship it.  They, however, didn’t even know that they were worshiping a basket of evil.  They just felt its presence and accepted the thoughts they got while dwelling on it.  Then they built an idol to represent the thoughts and feelings of the evil they worshiped, and knelt down before the idol, calling it their god.

Take the Lord’s hand, believe that Jesus Christ has been given the authority over all the heavens and earth.  Many, if not all, of the Lord’s prophets prophesied the coming of Jesus Christ who was going to be given authority over everything by the will of God the Father.  And know that the Lord has sent out his Holy Spirit for us so we have the opportunity to hangout with Jesus:

I looked up again–and there before me were four chariots coming out from between two mountains–mountains of bronze!  The first chariot had red horses, the second black, the third white, and the fourth dappled–all of them powerful.  I asked the angel who was speaking to me, “What are these, my lord?”

The angel answered me, “These are the four spirits of heaven, going out from standing in the presence of the Lord of the whole world.  The one with the black horses is going toward the north country, the one with the white horses toward the west, and the one with the dappled horses toward the south.”

When the powerful horses went out, they were straining to go throughout the earth.  And he said, “Go throughout the earth!”  So they went throughout the earth.

Then he called to me, “Look, those going toward the north country have given my Spirit rest in the land of the north.” (Zechariah 6:1-8)

Notice the language used.  Words like “strained” and “rest” stand out.  Jesus Christ is working to give himself to people through the straining of the Holy Spirit, but we have to choose him when we feel his presence and notice our thoughts changing as he races toward us.  When the Holy Spirit presents himself to us, we will know it.  And when he does, let’s make the best choice of our lives.  Invite the good God, the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, the Creator, the Counselor of all to stay and be with us.  Say “come on in, my friend.  Make yourself at home, take off your shoes, and I’ll go get your horses some water.  Hey, what do you like on your pizza?”
