Come to the throne of God and sit at the feet of Jesus all you who are weary and all you who feel despair, abandonment and depression. The Lord has a purpose for your life; a living, breathing purpose (Ephesians 2:1-10).
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith–and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God–not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do (Ephesians 2:6-10).
Television gets awfully boring after watching too much of it. Movies, music and games soon get played out, but they are great when they keep us satisfied and laughing. It’s the time after the fun wears thin that sucks. We are left in that odd place where we want to do something but we don’t want to do something. So we flip the television back on and roll around on the sofa feeling rotten until sleep finally gets us.
The beautiful part about finding the Lord’s purpose in your life is that you will never be able to get enough of it. God’s perfect will for his people leaves them in a place of celebration with people who will not leave you rolling around on a couch feeling like garbage (Acts 2:42-47).
